Massage Shouldn't be a Luxury.
You train hard, work hard, and you've got big goals. It's probably not your first rodeo, and you know those pesky knots in your muscles love to pop up, usually in the same spot. While we advocate some self-maintenance strategies, no amount of foam rolling can be as precise as hands on. Your body will perform better and have a fighting chance to avoid injuries.
Choose from 25, 55, or 85 minute massages. Our therapists perform full body massages with a purposeful approach to tackle your trouble areas. We offer individual massage as well as discounted 6 month memberships. Monthly massages are strongly encouraged for our athletic population to stay ahead of problematic soft tissue dysfunction.
Medical Rehab Massage
Sometimes our physical therapy clients arrive with an enormous amount of issues to address. In this case, the physical therapists will call in assistance from our massage team. Active physical therapy clients who also participate in massage services receive a substantial discount under our medical massage rates. The combination of physical therapy and massage expedite recovery to get you back to your sport faster.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
The lymph system is an intricate system within our bodies that works to keep us healthy. Without it our bodies would swell up like balloons, swamping our cells with stagnant fluid. Manual lymphatic drainage is a very light massage that encourages the natural drainage of the lymph which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. MLD is indicated for any excessive swelling after surgeries or trauma.
Techniques We Use
Proprioceptive-Deep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR) is a neurological technique utilizing manual muscle testing to find dysfunction within the sensory nervous system. By working on the system's "software" a practitioner may fix problems that have been negatively affecting muscular tension, joint mobility, motor control and more.
ART, or Active Release Technique, is often called the "gold standard in soft tissue health care" that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements. ART is a very popular technique among athletes and is almost always found in the Ironman circuit and other sporting events.
A pull from eastern medicine, we literally put special cups on your skin to create suction. We have had some success particularly with loosening up tight fascia (the thin layer of soft tissue around your muscles). No fire here. Standard cupping only.
